Probate is a greatly misunderstood subject and causes some confusion when someone passes away. It can be a complex area and it can also be relatively straightforward.

The main thing to understand is that a Grant of Probate is only a requirement if a financial institution requests it after the death of someone. In a way it is an official “proving of the Will” by HM Courts & Tribunals.

You will generally find that anyone who has Assets over a certain amount in their Estate on their death will have their personal representatives also known as the Executives having to apply for a Grant of Probate before these financial institutions will release any money due.
Please note that our Probate charges are set at 2% of the Estate value, with no hourly fee. The minimum charge for Probate services is £1200.

Grant Applications and Inheritance Tax
We offer a highly competitive alternative to most providers by offering the choice of a full service and working the Grant application from start to finish and advise and take care of any inheritance tax issues.

Preparing Probate Documents
Often the confusion is caused because bank A may request a Grant with savings of say £20,000 however bank B are happy to release funds of say £25,000 without the need for a Grant.
Executors have a choice to complete Probate themselves or they can choose professionals to complete the task.
