Probate Matters & Advice
Probate is a greatly misunderstood subject and causes some confusion when someone passes away. It can be a complex area and it can also be relatively straightforward.
We can work with you to ensure that all the correct documentation is provided. For Probate services and advice across Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, the Midlands, the South and beyond – get in touch today.
The main thing to understand is that a Grant of Probate is only a requirement if a financial institution requests it after the death of someone.
In a way it is an official “proving of the Will” by HM Courts & Tribunals.
You will generally find that anyone who has Assets over a certain amount in their Estate on their death will have their personal representatives also known as the Executives having to apply for a Grant of Probate before these financial institutions will release any money due.

Preparing Probate Documents
Often the confusion is caused because bank A may request a Grant with savings of say £20,000 however bank B are happy to release funds of say £25,000 without the need for a Grant.
Executors have a choice to complete Probate themselves or they can choose professionals to complete the task.
Grant Applications and Inheritance Tax
We offer a highly competitive alternative to most providers by offering the choice of a full service and working the Grant application from start to finish and advise and take care of any inheritance tax issues.
Alternatively we can provide help and support in just part of the work to be undertaken and work alongside the appointed Executors therefore reducing the costs.
Either way will be totally transparent with costs and offer highly competitive packages to help in this often difficult area.
We are also able to work with our other partners should we have a larger and much more complex case, which helps save time and money in providing a solution.
Graeme Tanner – Excellent service, friendly, professional and prompt, don’t hesitate to use nigel and his team.
Iris Wheeldon – Nigel visited us at home to arrange a number of matters, more so our Powers of Attorney. Nigel explained everything in a really clear manner and checked our understanding throughout the meeting. When Nigel had left I felt like a weight had lifted! I can’t thank him enough. A lovely gentleman offering a very important service. I would strongly recommend Nigel to anyone needing help in planning their estate.
Joanne Lamb – The will service was personal, professional, prompt and of excellent quality. I feel I have successfully secured my wishes and protected those dearest to me in the event of my passing. Absolutely worth the investment. Thank you Nigel.
